Meet the team

Here at Adventure Bushcraft UK we feel that being outdoors is an amazing place to be and should not feel like a survival expedition. Whether you love walking, or mountain biking, wild camping or sailing, research from 2009 which says that those who live closer to nature generally are both physically and mentally healthier, so we owe it to ourselves to get out there as often as possible.
We love being outdoors, enjoying mini weekend adventures and slightly longer ones on a regular basis and want you to enjoy it too
Our aim is to ensure that our customers not only learn new skills but enjoy their time with us and take away some cool memories

Andy James

Has over 20 years experience as a countryside ranger, and managing parks and gardens. He has also been involved with adult scouting on and off for about the same amount of time with a wide range of skills in forest management and arboreal skills.
He first began bush-craft about ten years ago as part of the day job and has regularly done talks and delivered bush craft demonstrations throughout his career. Foraging from a varied range vegetation in the local settings is a particular skill which he has honed over the years. Andy is DBS checked (Formally CRB) and first aid trained.

Dave Palfreyman

Initially cut his teeth outdoors as a scout leader in his teens, developing his skills in running groups and camps, involving what used to be called woodcraft skills, before being more popularly know these days as Bushcraft skills. Dave also ran activities and wide games that helped build skills in problem solving as an individual, and cooperating as part of a group to solve problems and challenges.
By understanding the skills that you use in everyday life and learning to adapt them to deal with a variety of situations you can achieve a lot, and being able to pool those skills in teams there is little we can't achieve.

Dave is DBS checked (Formally CRB) and first aid trained. He has a lengthy experience in coaching, training and assessing of first aid and martial arts, incident management, and conflict resolution.
Other than bushcraft, Dave's other interests include walking in the Peak and Lake district, scuba diving, martial arts and photography.
